Rooted in the Gospel
Abiding in Truth exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ—men and women who submit every part of life to the Gospel for the glory of God.
We provide biblical counseling, not licensed mental health services. We are not state-licensed clinicians or “mental health professionals,” and we want to be clear and honest about that distinction. Our work is rooted in Scripture and discipleship, not in secular psychology or therapeutic models.
Our counselors are trained and educated in biblical counseling and are ACBC certified. We value accountability, transparency, and faithfulness to God’s Word, and we are committed to handling Scripture carefully and responsibly as we counsel others.
Because our approach is gospel-centered, we speak directly and freely to matters of the heart—sin struggles, suffering, personal responsibility, and spiritual growth. The Gospel is the central message we proclaim, and we seek to build every aspect of life around Christ rather than human philosophy or tradition (Colossians 2:8).
Biblical Counseling vs. Christian Counseling
While there may be areas of overlap, biblical counseling is distinct. We believe the Word of God is fully sufficient and authoritative for understanding humanity, diagnosing our deepest problems, and guiding true transformation. Rather than borrowing secular psychological methods, we rely on Scripture to shape how we understand change.
Our goal is not mere behavior modification. We aim for heart transformation—that desires would be reshaped so that obedience flows naturally, all for the glory of God.
Scripture assures us that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness through knowing Christ (2 Peter 1:3). God’s Word is enough to help us face suffering, battle sin, and grow into Christlikeness in every season of life.
We exist to help people glorify God by abiding in Christ—the true Vine—so that healing, hope, and lasting transformation are produced for His glory.

What guides our work
Christ at the Center
Jesus is the Vine—we counsel and disciple in dependence on Him alone, for apart from Him we can do nothing.
John 15:5Sufficiency of Scripture
We believe the Bible is sufficient and authoritative for addressing the deepest issues of the human heart and guiding all of life.
2 Timothy 3:16–17Transformation from the Inside Out
True change begins in the heart and leads to lasting fruit. We address root issues, not just surface behavior.
Proverbs 4:23Gospel-Driven Hope
We counsel with the confidence that Christ redeems, restores, and renews broken lives. There is no one too far gone for His grace.
Discipleship is the Mission
Biblical counseling is a form of disciple-making. Our aim is not only healing but full maturity in Christ.
Colossians 1:28Truth in Love
We speak the truth with compassion and grace, knowing that love and truth must always walk together.
Ephesians 4:15What we hold to be true
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is the final authority for faith and life.
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power and glory.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and His future return in glory.
Humanity and Sin
We believe all people are created in God’s image but are separated from Him by sin. We are in need of redemption through Jesus Christ alone.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a gift of God and not earned by human effort.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells believers, empowering them for godly living and service.
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to make disciples of all nations, and is essential to the life of the believer.
Sanctification
We believe sanctification is the process of becoming more like Christ. Biblical counseling serves as a vital part of that ongoing transformation.
How we walk with you
We offer various services. If you do not find what you are looking for, please reach out with your specific questions.
Discipleship
Our discipleship program teaches core, foundational principles for every believer to understand including our identity in Christ, basic commands of Christ, sanctification, and what it looks like to be a healthy, contributing member to your church. This training can range between 12–15 weeks, but can also be completed in varying intervals.
Missional Living
Our vision casting and on-going training for those who desire to make disciples, plant churches, and participate in the Great Commission is a great resource for all people who are following Jesus. These resources will usually require multiple weeks to get through, but an on-going connection and relationship can also result. In this case, we are happy to come alongside you to help facilitate, mentor, and partner with you in the “field” God has you in.
The Great Commission
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Matthew 28:19–20
Counsel for Struggles
Whether it is persistent sin, heart battles, doubt, emotional wrestlings, or something else, we will walk together as we use the Word of God to speak Truth into your situation. We recommend meeting once a week (as needed) but based on your circumstances we can accommodate special arrangements.
Counsel for Suffering
Suffering comes in various forms but the ultimate result is the same: pain. Whether it is physical, emotional, mental, or a mixture of these, suffering affects everyone at some point in their life. We will use the Bible to help us navigate these difficult moments and allow it to speak Truth and hope into our situations.

What to Expect
Met with warmth, humility, and truth — modeled after Christ.
What to Expect in Biblical Counseling
You’ll be met with warmth, humility, and truth—modeled after Christ (Eph. 4:15). Scripture guides every step, aimed at heart change and growing reliance on Jesus.
You’ll be given weekly assignments, not for performance, but to help God’s Word take root in daily life. Come ready with a Bible, notebook, and a humble, teachable heart.
Transformation isn’t instant—but God is faithful to those who abide in Him.
Never water down the Word of God, but preach it in its undiluted sternness. There must be unflinching faithfulness to the Word of God, but when you come to personal dealings with others, remember who you are—you are not some special being created in heaven, but a sinner saved by grace.— Oswald Chambers
