Counsel for Struggles
We recognize that we live in a broken world, and as believers in Christ, we are continually “being transformed into the same image [of Christ] from one degree of glory to another” (2 Cor. 3:18). Yet, we also understand that real struggles and sins can hinder us from fully experiencing the freedom Christ has given us (Gal. 5:1).
It would be our honor to walk alongside you, standing firm in the truth of God’s Word, and witnessing His transforming power in your heart and life.
Counsel for Suffering
Life in a broken world brings many challenges, and no one is exempt from the effects of the Fall. Suffering is a reality we all face, but we believe God’s Word is sufficient to provide the hope, help, and truth we need in difficult seasons.

Who We Are
Abiding in Truth Biblical Counseling was started with one goal: make disciples of Jesus who submit themselves to the glory of God with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Now it must be stated: we are not a licensed mental health provider. This means a few things. First, we are not state licensed. We do not want to misrepresent ourselves: we are not “mental health professionals”. We are distinctly different from Christian Counseling.
Second, we are trained, pursuing certification*, and educated in biblical counseling. You can rest assured knowing that significant time has been invested, and will continue to be invested, to ensure that the best biblical counsel will be provided. We desire accountability, transparency, and fidelity to the Word of God.
Third, our biblical approach allows us to speak freely in regard to heart issues, sin struggles, personal responsibility, and any other spiritual aspect that may come up. We take seriously Paul’s instruction that we, “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8).
So what’s the difference between Biblical Counseling and Christian Counseling/mental health providers?
Great question! There are overlaps between Christian counseling and Biblical Counseling, but there are also distinct differences. We believe in the complete sufficiency and authority of the Word of God. This means we do not look to any secular psychological methodologies, interventions, or processes. We believe in order to be transformed for the glory of God, we must have a biblical understanding of man (anthropology) and a biblical understanding of the problems we face. This leads to having a biblical understanding of how we face and solve those problems. We are not simply interested in behavior modification. We desire to see our hearts and desires change so that our behavior changes: ultimately for the glory of God.
We seek to be completely grounded in the Word of God and believe that, “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence” (2 Pet 1:3). Simply put, the Word is enough for us to know how to glorify God through all circumstances, face the challenges of today, and be transformed into the image of Christ.
We exist to teach and train everyone how to glorify God by remaining in the Vine to produce healing, hope, and transformation that glorifies God.
*Damon is currently pursuing his certification through ACBC and is on track to complete this program by the end of 2025.
